What are Dust Mites?

Hardy creatures with 8 hairy legs Dust mites are translucent bodies can only be seen with a microscope. About 3 mites can be fit in a dot at the end of a sentence. Dust Mites only live upto 2- 4 months but during this life, Dust Mites produce about 200 times its weight in waste product and can lay upto 300 eggs. Dust Mites are scavengers and eat the dead skins of humans and animals.

Mites live in Mattress, Pillow, sofa, couches, rugs etc.. Dust Mites are 0.2- 0.3 Micron long. Human shed about 5- 10 gms of dead skin every week which is about 50 million flakes of dead skin per day. 80% of the material seen floating in the Sunbeam is actually skin flakes.

Dust Mites eat the dead skin flakes that humans shed, then breed by millions and defecate in to the mattresses and furniture.
